Inspection Process for Single Family Dwellings

Inspection Process for Single Family Dwellings

Municipal Affairs for the province of Alberta, through the Safety Codes Council sets the minimum number of inspections required for new construction through a document called: Uniform Quality Management Plan, this document is referred to as the QMP.

While the QMP sets a minimum number of inspections, the Inspection Services department has always chosen to over deliver by means of providing more inspections than what was minimally required.

In an effort to support our valued customers, we have created a system that will allow contractors, applying for safety code permits to determine if they would like to receive all of the inspections offered, as outlined in the permit conditions issued with the permit, or if they would like to receive the minimum number as required by the QMP.

Below is further detail on what that system looks like.
