Update - Thursday, December 21, 2023 - 10:00 a.m. 

Warranty repairs on the 25 metre program pool are being extended until December 29. As per the manufacturer’s recommendations, the additional time allows the sealant to set and provides suitable cure time.

Fitness classes affected by the closure will be relocated to another amenity and there will be no disruption to user group programming. The City will provide an update once the 25 metre program pool has re-opened for public use.

Monday, December 11, 2023 - 2:15 p.m. 

The 25 metre program pool at the Eastlink Centre is unavailable starting on December 18 in order for the pool manufacturer to return and replace malfunctioning sealant on the pool wall.

Repairs are expected to take five days to complete and the City will provide an update once the program pool has re-opened. User groups or programs are not impacted and will continue during the maintenance.

No risks to the public have been identified for those who swam in the 25 metre program pool. Ongoing collaboration with the pool manufacturer has allowed the City to maintain pool standards while ensuring water quality samples meet required AHS standards.

The ratio of sealant that may be released is minimal compared to the large volume of water in the 25 metre program pool.

Please be aware that until repairs are complete, leaning against the wall in the 25 metre program pool could mark your swimwear.
