Due to continued improved air quality, Eastlink Centre aquatics water features (inclusive of waterslides, FlowRider, splash park and buckets) have been turned back on for the 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. public swim.
UPDATE: Thursday, June 15 at 2:45 p.m.
Facilities and amenities will begin to re-open today following improved air quality. Re-opening times are as follows:
- Aquatera Outdoor Pool re-opens for public swim from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. today.
- Eastlink Centre aquatics area re-opens for swimming lessons (including public access to the sauna and steam rooms, lazy river, wading pool and hot tubs) at 4 p.m. until the end of public swim at 9 p.m. tonight. Water features (inclusive of waterslides, FlowRider, splash park and buckets) will stay turned off to help support improved air quality on the pool deck.
- Eastlink Centre PlayCare spots become available beginning at 5:15 p.m. until the last time slot from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Visitors are thanked for their patience and understanding while the City prioritized the health and safety of staff and patrons.
UPDATE: Wednesday, June 14 at 11 p.m.
All closures, inclusive of the Eastlink Centre aquatics area, PlayCare and the Aquatera Outdoor Pool, will continue into Thursday, June 15 until further notice.
Updated closure statuses for facilities and amenities will be provided by 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 15.
Due to a continued elevated air quality index of 10+, the Aquatera Outdoor Pool, Eastlink Centre aquatics area and PlayCare are closed until further notice.
The closure is in effect for the health and safety of patrons and staff.
All swimming lessons, user-group bookings and drop-in use are cancelled with this closure.
Staff will continue daily monitoring of air quality and will provide an update when each area re-opens.
For the health and safety of patrons and staff, closures will happen throughout the summer under the following circumstances:
- Aquatera Outdoor Pool will close when the Air Quality Health Index reaches a 10 or higher (very high risk).
- Eastlink Centre Aquatics and PlayCare will close after prolonged Air Quality Health Index of at least 7 (high risk) and will be announced on the City website.
