UPDATE: June 1 at 9 p.m.
The 50 metre pool is expected to re-open at 6 a.m. on Friday, June 2.
The City thanks visitors for their patience while staff prioritized patron safety.
The 50 metre pool at the Eastlink Centre is unavailable until further notice due to a contamination. An update will be released once the 50 metre pool has re-opened.
Public swim is minimally affected by the closure and will continue to operate in the aquatics area. The closure affects all bookings and drop-in classes that take place in the 50 metre pool until a re-opening time is announced.
Summer months often bring additional contaminates, including lotions and sunscreens, into the aquatics area which can create bacteria that requires closures. Visitors are reminded to help keep a clean environment by taking a shower prior to entering the pool and avoiding external contaminates such as outdoor clothes in the water and outdoor shoes on deck.
Visitors are thanked for their patience and understanding.
