Council referred discussion on the Grande Prairie Curling Centre’s request for additional operating funding as well as the Grande Prairie Curling Centre Feasibility Study to the 2023 Budget Deliberations.
City-County Project
Council approved the City-County project with funding in the amount of $48,981.05 from Council's Strategic Initiatives Fund.
Policy 346 - Reserve Fund Policy Amendments
Council approved amendments to Policy 346 - Reserve Funds to allow for a more appropriate treatment of the City's interest earnings and an opportunity to increase revenue recognized in the annual operating budget.
Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-162
Council passed an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw to update the Child Care Facility definition.
The proposed amendments align with recently passed provincial legislation and with the City's commitment to reduce red tape for local businesses.
Cobblestone East Outline Plan Bylaw C-1453; Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-163
Council passed Bylaw C-1453, being a bylaw to adopt the Cobblestone East Outline Plan, Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-163 and rescinded the Cobblestone East Outline Plan OP-06-02.
The proposed Outline Plan and related amendments will add a four-hectare parcel and rezone it from Rural Service Area - Manufactured Home Community (RSA-MHC) to Small Lot Residential (RS) and Combined Density Residential (RC).
The land is intended for a mix of low-density and low/medium-density residential development in close proximity to a school and open space to allow for continued development of the Cobblestone East neighbourhood.
