Grande Prairie Public Transit is proud to offer three specialized community bus services: On-Demand Transit, Late-Night On Demand Service, and Accessibility. These services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our community, ensuring convenient, safe, and accessible transportation options for all residents.
On-Demand Service
On-Demand Transit is a convenient and innovative way to keep our community connected with neighbourhoods that are better served by on-demand transit than fixed route transit.
About On-Demand Transit:
Schedule rides 1-3 days ahead of time (recommended) or request immediate pickup day of.
Same day bookings must be made within 30 minutes of your pick up time.
- Pickup at the closest bus stop within your neighbourhood.
- Drop-off at the nearest transit hub or another On-Demand neighbourhood stop.
- All Transit customers can enjoy On-Demand service

- Trips available during regular transit hours using a shuttle bus service.
- More direct, often shorter travel times.
- Operational efficiencies enhance overall transit service.

Late Night On-Demand Service
Late night service is available from any transit stop to any other transit stop and is not exclusive to on-demand zones.
Regular bus fare applies.
Hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 9 p.m.- 11 p.m.
- Last booking 30 minutes before end of service.
- Sunday: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Last booking 30 minutes before end of service.
The goal of late night on-demand service is to provide transit service in the most effective and efficient manner by responding directly to ride requests as they come in. It also allows riders to travel more directly, based on their requested bus stops and not along a fixed route.
The expanded hours come as a response to rider feedback for improved service options, so the City can better service its residents and connect the community.

Accessibility Features

- Accredited service dogs are permitted with a lead and harness.
- Strollers are permitted but must be folded and stowed away and cannot be wheeled on.
- Bike racks that hold two standard bicycles are available on each bus
- Infant safety carriers for those children who weigh less than 20 pounds or 9 kilograms are required. Bucket style infant carriers should be buckled into the seat belt provided.
- Regular fares apply for all on demand buses and a transfer will be issued upon request to connect to a regular transit bus at a transit hub.
