Delegations

MADD Grande Prairie presented to Council as a delegation to share an update on their educational campaigns against impaired driving. City Council directed administration to work with the delegation to identify an appropriate location for upcoming displays.

Unaudited Financial Statements

City Council approved the transfer of a 2021 operating surplus of $4,262,127 to the future expenditures reserve for the following uses:

  • RCMP Retro Pay: $734,800
  • Repay Community Safety Project: $500,000
  • Council's Strategic Initiatives Fund: $3,027,327

Council allocated $1.5 million of the unbudgeted ICF revenue received in 2021 to the Financial Stabilization Reserve.

Council approved the transfer of sufficient funds from the Financial Stabilization Reserve to achieve a 0% change in municipal taxes for an average residential property in 2022.

Audited Financial Statements

Council approved the City’s audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2021.

Utility Bylaw Amendments

Council approved amendments to the Utility Bylaw C-1365C. The amendments outline the rate increases for Aquatera and the inclusion of Aquatera's Cross-Connection Control Policy into City's Utility bylaw.

Grant Funding Allocations

Council approved grant allocations from the Community Advisory Committee to the following groups:

  • 2 Sport Hosting Grants in the amount of $4000 each to the Grande Prairie Minor Hockey for the U13 Tier 1 Provincial Championship and the Grande Prairie Minor Hockey for the U16 AAA Provincials.
  • 3 Arts Development Individual Project Grants in the amount of $1,400 each to Cameron White, Lindi Denkema, and Kristina Alexander-Luna.
