A new exhibit called ‘Eyeshine: The Boreal Forest at Night’ opens at the Grande Prairie Museum on April 9 and invites children to walk along a path surrounded by trees to find and learn about nocturnal animals.

Eyeshine features a night forest, bat cave, Lumoplay interactive game and a scavenger hunt. The exhibit is open to visit until 2023 and is free of charge.

The exhibit launch on April 9 includes an event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. centered around the book launch ‘Finding Moose’ by Sue Farrell Holler.

Families are invited to come participate in various fun moose-themed activities at the event including:

  • Live book readings in celebration of the Finding Moose book launch at 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
  • A discovery table featuring Indigenous moose hair tufting
  • Crafts
  • A scavenger hunt
  • Treats and drinks

The Grande Prairie Museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
