Educational Workshops and Open House to Reduce Energy Waste Announced

The City of Grande Prairie is launching a series of workshops and an open house to help the public learn about reducing energy waste in their homes and businesses.

The open house takes place on June 20 at the Muskoseepi Park Ernie Radbourne Pavilion from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents are invited to drop by anytime to participate in the open house.

A workshop for young families takes place on June 17 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at Montrose Cultural Centre in the Rotary Community Room.

A workshop for mature families takes place June 18 from 5:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. at Jeffrey’s in their loft room.

At the workshops and public open house, attendees will explore the following topics:

  • Simple and effective ways to reduce energy bills
  • Energy efficient technology for your home
  • New energy waste reduction practices to try

Experts will also be available at each event to answer any questions residents may have.

The goal of the series is to help the community find cost savings and reduce overall energy waste by teaching simple changes to implement in homes or businesses and take advantage of benefits available through the government.
