City Council approved an expansion to the childcare services and an adjustment of fees at Dave Barr Community Centre at the Council meeting held on March 11, 2019.
The Dave Barr Community Centre is now expanding services by opening a toddler room for children ages 19 to 36 months. It will allow for the enrolment of 12 additional children to receive childcare at the facility.
“We are very excited that this expansion was approved,” said Cate Amaro, Facility Supervisor. “It will alleviate some of the current capacity constraints that our community has when it comes to childcare spaces for younger children.”
Adjustments to the Dave Barr Community Centre childcare fees were also approved. Fees for The Kids Place and Family Day Program are being adjusted to remain comparable and competitive in the community. The adjustments go into effect on September 1, 2019.
The Dave Barr Community Centre is accredited through the Alberta Child Care Accreditation program as a licensed child care program provider for daycare and family day home services. For more information on the facility, visit davebarrcc.ca.
