Construction work begins in the Richmond Industrial Park area on Wednesday, July 4, weather permitting. Construction will continue through to August as part of the 2018 Road Rehabilitation Program.
Work takes place on the following roads:
- 97 Avenue from 112 Street to 116 Street
- 112 Street from 97 Avenue to 100 Avenue
The road rehabilitation will consist of removing existing asphalt structure and either spot removal or full removal of concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. The road will then be excavated down to the depth required to install a new gravel base. New concrete curb and gutters will be installed followed by the new asphalt pavement surface.
The sites located on 97 Avenue and 112 Street will also receive new sidewalks on one side of the road. These project sites also includes various storm sewer repairs.
Traffic Information: Delays should be expected as the road will be reduce to one lane around work crews and the speed limit will be reduced to 30 km/h. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible.
