The City of Grande Prairie has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information from potential service providers in order to help determine future options for accessible transportation.

The RFI is issued as a result of the Handibus Feasibility Study completed in 2018. The goal of this RFI is to gauge interest from service providers and to gain an understanding of readiness, capacity as well as feasibility and cost if this service was to be offered as a competitive bid.

The accessible transportation service is intended to serve the City of Grande Prairie and to supplement service in the surrounding area including Beaverlodge, Clairmont, Hythe, Sexsmith and Wembley.

All services are expected to be delivered through a shared ride network and can take the form of accessible taxis, vans or mini buses.

The full RFI is available as a Current Bidding Opportunity on the City’s website until May 28.
