Delegations

Amended Schedule of Council and Committee Meetings for 2019
Council approved an amended schedule of Council and Committee meetings for 2019.
Starting on May 14, Council meetings will start at 3:00 p.m., recess at 5:00 p.m. and reconvene at 6:00 p.m. for Public Delegations and Public Hearings. This new schedule is starting on a trial basis to be evaluated on October 21.
All Committee meetings will take place every second Tuesday, the week preceding Council, beginning at 9:00 a.m. They will take place in the order of Infrastructure and Protective Services, Corporate Services and Community Living.
Appointment of Alternative to the Grande Spirit Foundation Board
Council appointed Councillor Thiessen to the Grande Spirit Foundation Board as an alternate, effective May 1, 2019.
Transit System Bylaw C-1282
Council approved a new Transit System Bylaw. The purpose of this bylaw is to regulate the conduct and activities of transit users with a focus on safety and comfort of passengers and employees.
Large Scale Tourism Funding
Council approved allocations of the 2019 Large Scale Tourism Grant Funding in the following amounts:
- $50,000 to the Grande Prairie Stompede
- $25,000 to the 2019 Canadian Men’s and Master Men’s Fastball Championship
- $87,500 to the Bear Creek Folk Music Festival
Council Code of Conduct Bylaw C-1384
Council approved a Code of Conduct Bylaw, a Council Code of Conduct Complaints Policy, and a Complaint Reporting and Investigation Process Procedure. Policy 110- Council Code of Ethics was repealed as it is being replaced with the newly approved bylaw, policy, and procedure.
Special Recreational Tax Levy in Pinnacle Ridge Bylaw C-1403
Council approved the Special Recreational Tax Levy in Pinnacle Ridge.
2019 Property Tax Bylaw C-1402
Council approved the 2019 Property Tax Bylaw.
Land Acquisition for Habitat for Humanity Projects
Council is requesting up to $879,723 from the Provincial Affordable Housing Grant Fund for a Habitat for Humanity Project.
Public Arts Reserve Funding
Council approved $15,000 in funding from the Public Arts Reserve for the Snowbird 8 Memorial project.
