Here are the highlights from the City Council meeting held on June 4, 2019:

Delegations

Members of the community attended as delegates regarding accessible transportation.

Resolution for AUMA Convention

Council approved the submission of the resolution on Children’s Health Care to the AUMA Convention.

Accessible Transportation

Council re-affirmed the importance of accessible transportation and previous financial commitments to the Disabled Transportation Society made for 2019. Funding continues with the expectation that service levels resume at original 2019 levels.

Council directed administration to report back identifying alternatives for accessible transportation should Disabled Transportation Society cease operations.

Council Leave of Absence

Council approved an extended leave of absence for Councillor Blackburn.

Notice of Motion for 2020 Budget

Council received a Notice of Motion for the 2020 Budget.

Amendments to the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw C-1237O and Land Use Bylaw C1260-105

Council approved amendments to Municipal Development Plan Bylaw C-1237O and Land Use Bylaw C1260-105, implementing a temporary relaxation to the 25% limitation on Small Lot Residential (RS) land use district.
