On Monday, October 17, crews begin the 2022 traffic signal repair and replacement program.
The traffic signal program is an annual City program that is designed to repair and replace traffic signals and their related infrastructure. A full traffic signal rehabilitation consists of the installation of new traffic signals, including bases, poles, conduits and cables, while removing the old signals and their related infrastructure.
Traffic signal work takes place at the following intersections:
- 97 Avenue and 108 Street
- 100 Avenue and 108 Street
- 100 Avenue and 112 Street
- 100 Avenue and 116 Street
The intersection of 97 Avenue and 108 Street as well as the intersection of 100 Avenue and 108 Street are full rehabs of all traffic signal infrastructure.
The intersection of 100 Avenue and 112 Street and the intersection of 100 Avenue and 116 Street are partial rehabs of traffic signal infrastructure.
Minor lane closures are occurring throughout construction.
There is a planned short period when the signals are dark during the changeover from the existing signals to the new signals. This changeover occurs during off-peak hours and traffic is planned to be managed through 4-way stops and flaggers.
Work is anticipated to be completed by November 15, weather permitting.
