The City of Grande Prairie in partnership with the Government of Alberta’s Family and Community Supports Services (FCSS) Program is offering a Collaboration Grant: Building Capacity for Collaboration and Systems Transformation Funding to local organizations and groups aiming to make a social difference in the community.

The purpose of the funding is to support the provision of preventive social services that enhance the social wellbeing of our community using a collective impact approach to collaboration and supporting innovative approaches to working together toward positive community change.

Funding in the amount of $72,000 is available for a year-long period from October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.

The grant is available for local organizations, groups and businesses to mobilize cross-sector partnerships to address community-wide issues. It is designed to encourage groups to come together to explore how together they can use the resources, services, and initiatives within their respective organizations for greater collective impact. The fund encourages creativity and innovation and is intended to be flexible and adaptable for long-term sustainability.

To be eligible to apply for the grant:

  • Two or more groups must provide a joint application; applications from single organizations will not be accepted
  • At least one of the applicants must be a non-profit society registered in Alberta with program operations and administration located in The City of Grande Prairie.
  • The application must focus on an emergent community issue, i.e. poverty, homelessness, family violence, bullying, addictions, mental health, disabilities, etc.
  • Applications must meet FCSS eligibility

As part of the application process, prospective applicants are encouraged to connect with the City at an Information Session being held on July 31, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Community Social Development (10030-102 Avenue).
