The Aquatera Outdoor Pool is wrapping up the 2022 summer season on Monday, September 5.
The outdoor pool will operate for its last day this summer on Labour Day, September 5, on statutory holidays hours from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The outdoor pool opened with a splash this summer on May 27 with a season opener featuring prizes and giveaways for visitors.
Highlights from the season include:
- Celebration of the facility’s 60-year anniversary with a free community event and fundraising of $1400 in community donations for Rise Above Aquatics
- Free entry as part of Canada Day celebrations
- Summer swimming lessons for Lifesaving Society Preschool
- Temperature increase to 27 degrees based on community feedback
- Signing of a new naming rights partnership with Aquatera Utilities Inc.
The facility saw an estimated 22,000 visitors this summer, including 19 school bookings. Over 1000 students attended the outdoor pool in the last two weeks of June.
The City also partnered with the Cool Aid Society to provide free swimming to 206 youth in the community. Funding for this was made possible through the Don Gillies Legacy Fund.
The City thanks all Aquatera Outdoor Pool visitors for contributing to a successful swim season and looks forward to welcoming everyone back next year.
