City Manager Horacio Galanti returns to City Hall today after the trip of a lifetime summiting Mount Everest.
In 2013, Horacio summited Everest from the south side (Nepal) and this trip saw Horacio summit from the north side (Tibet). With this recent trek complete, Horacio is now the third Canadian and first Argentinian to summit Mount Everest from both the north and south sides.
“The planning, preparation, determination and courage required to summit Everest, not once but twice, is almost incomprehensible. These skills are also the assets that Horacio brings to work everyday,” says Mayor Bill Given.
“Horacio serves as a great model of what someone can accomplish when they have a goal, and we are so happy to have him back putting his skills to work for the residents of Grande Prairie.”
Galanti reached the summit of Mount Everest, at an elevation of 8,850 metres.
The City of Grande Prairie is proud of Galanti’s hard work and dedication, and is happy to have him home.
