Here are the highlights from the City Council meeting on February 25, 2019:

Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-103

Council approved Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-103, re-designating 820484 Street from an Urban Reserve District to a Site Specific Direct Control District. This amendment will allow for the development of an indoor and outdoor volleyball court. The proposed uses are consistent with the Recreation designation in the Fieldbrook Outline Plan. 

Bylaw C-1260-79 - Land Use Bylaw Housekeeping Amendments

Council approved Bylaw C-1260-79 being an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw to correct textual errors and provide more clarity on certain requirements.

Public Member Appointments

Public members were appointed to the Grande Prairie Airport Commission and the Economic Development Committee.

City Manager Appointment

City Council appointed Horacio Galanti as the new City Manager.

Lending Bylaw C-1396 - Loan to Swan City Hockey Association

Council gave first reading to Lending Bylaw C-1396- Loan to Swan City Hockey Association.

Storm Drainage Master Plan Adoption

Council adopted the 2018 Storm Drainage Master Plan by resolution. The new plan is needed to support the population growth and land annexed since the last plan was completed in 2012-2013.
