At the information session, attendees will be able to hear from the project team consisting of City staff, the engineering consultant, and the construction contractor. Topics to be covered include:

  • Project and construction scope
  • Construction sequencing and timeline
  • Draft traffic plans

Construction on Phase 4 of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project occurs on 100 Avenue between west of 100 Street and east of 98 Street. Construction is scheduled to begin May 2021 and last until the end of October.

The project consists of replacing the old underground water, storm, and sanitary lines with enhanced pipes to facilitate higher density development and roadway reconstruction. In addition, upgrades to the streetscape will occur, including broader sidewalks, higher visibility pedestrian crossings, and enhanced seating and landscaping to create a modern, walkable, and pedestrian-friendly city centre.
