The City of Grande Prairie advises residents of temporary road closures and transit impacts to support Experience Grande Prairie on Friday, August 29.

Road Closures

• Thursday, August 28 (set up begins):
  • The intersection of 101 Avenue and 101 Street closes at 6:30 a.m.
  • 101 Avenue is open to local traffic only at 100 Street westbound, 101 Street in both north and southbound directions and 102 Street eastbound.
  • Vehicle access up to as close to the intersection as possible remains open to local traffic. Obey all detour signage if applicable. Businesses remain open and accessible.
• Friday, August 29 (event day):
  • Event fencing is installed.
  • 101 Avenue westbound fully closes at 100 Street.
  • 101 Avenue eastbound closes at 102 Street, with local traffic access only to just east of the Golden Star restaurant parking lot.
  • Local traffic only on 101 Street between 100 and 102 Avenues up to fencing.
  • Access to Tito’s parking lot from 101 Avenue closes.
  • Obey all directional signs and barricades.

Transit Impacts

• Route 8 detour:
  • Transit detours north on 100 Street and returns to route at 103 Avenue.
  • Stops 802 and 804 are out of service Thursday morning throughout the duration of the event.
