Traffic Advisory: Temporary Closure At 106 Street & 116 Avenue For Asphalt Milling Operations

The City of Grande Prairie informs residents and motorists that 106 Street & 116 Avenue (south of 116 Avenue) will experience a temporary closure to facilitate essential asphalt milling operations.

The closure is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 26 and is expected to last 1-2 days, weather permitting. Once the milling operations are completed, the intersection will promptly reopen to traffic.

Detour signs are in place to guide traffic to the nearest alternative route via 108 Avenue & 102 Street, leading to the intersection of 102 Street & 116 Avenue.

While the milling operations are underway, 108 Street north of 116 Avenue will remain accessible for northbound traffic and south-eastbound and south-westbound traffic.

The City of Grande Prairie apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and commuters during construction.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching the work area and to obey all traffic control measures for their safety and the safety of the workers. We encourage drivers to plan their routes accordingly and consider using alternative paths to avoid potential delays during the closure period.
