Seat Walls Being Replaced Downtown on August 13 and 14

Seat Walls Being Replaced Downtown on August 13 and 14

This weekend, crews are removing and replacing two large concrete seat walls along 100 Avenue, at the intersections of 100 Street and 99 Street.

The work is being done between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. to reduce disruptions to commuters, businesses, and visitors to the downtown.

A large crane is used to move the structures and to ensure the safety of the crew and the public westbound traffic on 100 Avenue between 98 Street and 101 Street is closed while work occurs, and a signed detour will be in place.

North and southbound traffic on 100 Street, 99 Street, and 98 Street is not affected.

The seat walls are being replaced as one does not meet specifications and one was damaged within the product warranty period. The seat walls provide seating and serve as a barrier for shrubs at intersections and mid-block crossing locations.
