The Eastlink Centre continues to experience an interruption in hot water to taps and showers due to a failed heating coil.

The heating coil needs to be fully replaced. It is a large, specialty equipment that can only be built through a few manufacturers world-wide.

As a result, combined with current supply chain issues and COVID-19 related labour challenges, there is an unexpected, prolonged manufacturing delay.

The Eastlink Centre has been working alongside Alberta Health Services (AHS) since the initial service interruption to ensure safety requirements for operations are being met until the failed coil is replaced.

Temporary hot water is provided for the on-deck showers near the sauna and steam room for use prior to entering and exiting the pool.

Updates on when full service is expected to be restored will be provided moving forward. Currently, the necessary replacement coil is not expected for at least another five weeks.
