PlayCare, childcare for children ages six months to seven years old, at the Eastlink Centre is introducing a $5 no-show fee starting February 1.

The fee will automatically be placed onto accounts of caretakers who miss the attendance window and do not cancel a scheduled slot a minimum of 30 minutes before the start time.

If the caretaker and child do not arrive in the first 10 minutes of a booked time slot, then it is considered a no-show.

Booked PlayCare time slots can be cancelled or altered by calling AccessGP at 311.

The City is thrilled to see the use of PlayCare increase steadily over the past year due to visitors utilizing the recreational amenities at the Eastlink Centre.

The no-show fee implementation creates fairness for everyone wanting to utilize PlayCare by encouraging visitors to only sign up for time slots they will attend.

This supports the City’s commitment to providing great service and access to recreation by giving more caretakers the option to use PlayCare while they support their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through active lifestyles at the Eastlink Centre.
