Update as of 2:50 p.m. on January 7, 2022:
The City has continued to work closely with our banking partner to resolve this issue and minimize the impact by expediting a reversal of the double withdrawal, issuing refunds where needed, and ensuring any NSF charges incurred as a result of this error have or will be reimbursed for impacted residents. Additionally, all City-generated NSF charges for the month of December are being waived.
In the coming days, the Assessment and Taxation department will reach out to those impacted to ensure any additional NSF bank fees charged to a resident’s bank account as a result of the double tax payment are reimbursed.
City Administration has taken steps to ensure this will not happen again.
