City Preparing for Downtown Rehabilitation Project

City Preparing for Downtown Rehabilitation Project

Preparations for the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes project are underway with temporary water connections and temporary traffic signals being installed in the coming days.

On April 14, businesses in the alleyways north and south of 100 Avenue between 100 Street and 98 Street will be placed on temporary water connections to maintain water to businesses for the duration of construction.

On April 18, 99 Street between 101 Avenue and 100 Avenue is closed to accommodate the installation of a temporary east/west waterline along the alleyway alignment crossing 99 Street. The installation is anticipated to be complete on the same day.

Between April 19 and 30, temporary traffic signals will be installed at the intersections of 102 Street and 100 Avenue, as well as 100 Street and 102 Avenue to accommodate future traffic detours. A one-lane closure is expected during daytime hours in order to install poles, cables and traffic signals. The roads will be reopened at the end of each day of work.
