The City of Grande Prairie Fire Department has deployed booms to contain a material releasing into the Crystal Lake from the Crystal Lake Viewing Dock. The substance is a protective coating used on the structure, it is melting due to extreme high temperatures.

The City’s Transportation/Parks Crews are onsite cleaning the material and monitoring the site, as well Environmental Services is in contact with Alberta Environment and Parks.
