The Land Use Bylaw contains rules and regulations for development on private land. An application to amend the Land Use Bylaw is required if you wish to develop a site in a manner that is not allowed in the current land use district or development regulations. A Land Use Bylaw amendment requires three readings by Council and a public hearing.
Fees and Timelines
Land Use Bylaw amendment fees are regulated by Bylaw C-1395 – Fees, Rates and Charges.
Planning and advertising fees are non-refundable regardless if the amendment is approved or denied.
Land Use Bylaw amendment applications can take up to 2 to 3 months to process. More complex proposals may take longer.
