Permits

Subtrade permits are required for installing new, adding to, or altering an electrical, plumbing, or gas system. The HVAC scope is often included under the issuance of a building permit.

If a building permit is not otherwise required, and there are alterations to an HVAC system, a standalone HVAC permit may be required. 

This application form is used to apply for residential or commercial subtrade permits.

Fee Update Notice

Fees and rates will be updated effective January 1, 2026.

Some forms may not reflect the new fees.
