The Community Microgrant is intended to foster connections and pride in the community through the funding of gatherings, activities, and celebrations of arts and culture.
The grant will fund community events and arts and cultural projects that will bring City of Grande Prairie residents and visitors together. Funding may also be provided to developing artists to assist in taking them to the next level of development, expression, or performance to enhance the artistic talent within the community.
Fees and Timelines
Grants received will be given notice of their application status within 30 business days of submission.
Grant intake will close for the year when the total funding is allocated or December 31 each year.
Application Requirements
Arts and Culture Project Funding
- One application is required per project.
- Letters from at least two references who can demonstrate artistic ability.
- An example of the artist or group’s work (excerpt of writing, sound recording, slides, image, portfolio).
- A current resume / cv / portfolio must be included with the application.
- The applicant must demonstrate how the individual or group will attain the next level of artistic development or provide a statement of expected results.
- Recipients shall acknowledge funding received from the City of Grande Prairie in related advertising or promotional materials.
- No single grant will exceed $1,500.00.
Community Events
- One application is required per event.
- Grants will be considered for non-profit organizations.
- The applicant should be a community group that is involved in the community year round.
- The event must be open to the public and must be advertised locally and regionally.
- Applicants must demonstrate how the event aligns with Council’s strategic priorities.
- Recipients shall acknowledge funding received from the City of Grande Prairie in related advertising or promotional materials.
- No single grant will exceed $1,500.00.
