(Grande Prairie, Alta. – September 17, 2026) – Heritage Village will set the scene for an evening of eerie storytelling when the Folktales Tour returns to the Grande Prairie Museum on October 16 and 17.

The after-dark walking tour leads guests through Heritage Village, where stories are brought to life against the backdrop of its historic buildings. This year’s Folktales Tour is presented in collaboration with Generations Readers Theatre, the Disturbing the Peace podcast and the South Peace Regional Archives, bringing together local storytelling and history for the Halloween season.

“Folktales is a chance to experience Heritage Village in a completely different way,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “There is something special about gathering to share stories, and the historic setting makes this a memorable way to enjoy the Halloween season in Grande Prairie.”

Two tours are offered each evening, beginning at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Each tour is approximately one hour and 15 minutes long. Tickets are $25 per person and are available in advance at cityofgp.com/folktales.

The tour takes place outdoors and includes walking throughout Heritage Village. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.

Folktales includes scary content and stories that may contain sensitive subject matter. The minimum age to attend is 14.
