Road rehabilitation in the Patterson Place area is scheduled to begin Friday, August 7 as part of the City of Grande Prairie’s 2026 capital construction program.
Work will take place at the following locations:
- Poplar Drive between 72 Avenue and 79 Avenue, beginning Friday, August 7 with completion expected in early September.
- Patterson Drive between 76 Avenue and Prairie Road, beginning Tuesday, September 1 with completion expected by the end of September.
- Prairie Road between 100 Street and Patterson Drive, beginning Friday, September 4 with completion expected by the end of September.
All timelines are weather permitting and subject to change.
The project includes asphalt milling, storm sewer repairs, overlay paving and pavement line markings.
During construction:
- Traffic will be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic through active work zones.
- A temporary speed limit of 30 km/h will be in effect.
- Short-term road closures may be required as work progresses.
- Sidewalks and pedestrian access will remain open.
- Transit service will continue in the area, with potential delays on Route 2 during construction.
Drivers are reminded to follow posted signage, slow down in construction zones and allow extra travel time.
