Road resurfacing work planned for select sections of 84 Avenue

Road resurfacing work is planned to begin June 3 on select sections and turning lanes along 84 Avenue and at the 108 Street intersection.

This project is part of the City’s ongoing capital rehabilitation program and focuses on targeted resurfacing and localized repairs to preserve existing roadway infrastructure. The work is limited in scope and focuses on select turning lanes, lane-specific resurfacing and localized repairs, and is separate from the larger 2025 84 Avenue rehabilitation project.

The project includes asphalt milling and overlay along with roadway marking restoration to support ongoing roadway maintenance and improve long-term driving conditions on this key corridor.

Work locations include:

• 84 Avenue (113 Street to 108 Street) – eastbound right lane and turning lanes.

• 108 Street at 84 Avenue – eastbound right lane and turning lanes.

• Localized repairs on westbound 84 Avenue east of 112 Street.

Temporary lane reductions and traffic control measures will be in place during construction, with message boards installed ahead of work beginning. Some work, including lane painting, may take place overnight to minimise disruption. Work is expected to be completed by mid-June, weather permitting.

Construction schedules and current traffic impacts are available through the Traffic Planner Map at cityofgp.com/construction.
