January 2
Residential snow clearing continues today as part of the current two-week rotation.
- Today – Week A: Arbour Hills, Gateway, Northridge, Royal Oaks and Westgate.
- Monday, January 5 – Week B begins: Crews move into Crystal Heights, Crystal Landing, Summit and Ivy Lake Estates.
Parking reminder: On your scheduled clearing day, please have vehicles off the road before 8 a.m. and remain off until 5 p.m.
Please note that some areas scheduled for Thursday (Week A) were not fully completed. Crews will be returning to those locations. An update will be shared once details are confirmed.
Parking is not permitted at any time where windrows are present.
Today’s snow clearing operations also include:
- Priority roads: Crews are working on Priority 2 routes, with a focus on school zones ahead of schools returning next week, as well as 100 Street north of 116 Avenue and areas behind Walmart.
- Ice control: Sander crews continue to patrol and address slippery sections across the city.
Weekend operations:
- City crews will continue working on priority routes throughout the weekend. Contracted crews will assist on Saturday to support Priority 2 road operations across the city.
December 31
Residential snow clearing continues today as part of the current two-week rotation.
- Today – Wednesday, Week A: Crews are working in Avondale, College Park and Swanavon.
- Tomorrow – Thursday, Week A: Crews will be in Kensington, Mission Heights, O’Brien Lake and Stone Ridge. Residential snow clearing is scheduled to continue as planned on January 1.
Parking reminder: On your scheduled clearing day, please have vehicles off the road before 8 a.m. and remain off until 5 p.m. No parking is permitted at any time where windrows are present.
With additional snowfall anticipated, City snow clearing and ice control crews will continue working through the holiday and into the weekend, as conditions allow.
Today’s snow clearing operations also include:
- Roadways: Crews are working on roads between 100 Street and 98 Street, including 105 Avenue, 107 Avenue and 104 Avenue.
- Windrows: A blower will follow to support windrow removal.
- Service roads: Crews will work to complete service roads between 116 Avenue and 132 Avenue.
- Ice control: Sander crews are patrolling and addressing slippery sections across the city.
There will be no daily snow clearing update on January 1. Daily updates will resume Friday, January 2. With additional snowfall anticipated, snow clearing and ice control operations will continue on priority roads through the holiday, as conditions allow.
December 30
Residential snow clearing continues in Week A areas:
- Today – Tuesday, Week A: Crews are working in Patterson and South Patterson and Southview. Temporary parking restrictions are in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please move vehicles off the road during this time to support snow clearing.
- Tomorrow – Wednesday, Week A: Crews will be in Avondale, College Park and Swanavon. Please ensure vehicles are off the road before 8 a.m. to support efficient operations.
Today’s snow clearing operations also include:
- Priority roads: Crews are clearing Resources Road, cleaning up turning lanes on 108 Street, and addressing bus lanes near Towne Centre Mall.
- Slush and soft areas: With warmer temperatures, crews are focusing on cleaning up soft and slushy areas, particularly in turning lanes and merge points.
- Windrows: Windrow pickup is underway near Towne Centre Mall, as well as in Patterson and Royal Oaks.
December 29
A new two-week round of residential snow clearing is underway.
- Today – Monday, Week A: Crews are working in Hillside, Mountview, and VLA/Montrose. Temporary parking restrictions are in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please move vehicles off the road during this time to support snow clearing.
- Tomorrow – Tuesday, Week A: Crews will be in Patterson, South Patterson, and Southview. Please ensure vehicles are off the road before 8 a.m. to support efficient operations.
Today’s snow clearing operations also include:
- Priority roads: Crews are reducing ruts near rail crossings on
– 68 Avenue between 108 Street and 92 Street
– 84 Avenue between 100 Street and Resources Road
- Ice control: Crews are focusing on Priority 1 routes and clearing intersections.
- Windrows: Crews are removing windrows in Crystal Ridge.
- Facilities: Crews are clearing parking lots at City-owned facilities.
