Various roads, transit routes and the Eastlink Centre facility are impacted on July 8 and 9 for the Eastlink Centre Triathlon.
Facility Impacts
The following amenities at the Eastlink Centre are unavailable to the public during the specified times on Sunday, July 9:
- Aquatics area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Fieldhouse from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The dive tank remains unavailable during public swim on Sunday, July 9. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and cheer for their favourite triathlete during the event.
The fitness centre, concourse, track, squash and racquetball courts and Design Works Centre are available during the event.
Transportation Impacts
Motorists should expect delays due to the following road closures:
- North Knowledge Way beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 8.
- 68 Avenue closed in both directions from west Knowledge Way to Poplar Drive at 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 9.
- 100 Street from 67 Avenue to 72 Avenue at 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 9.
- Kateri Drive at 68 Avenue at 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 9.
There is no through traffic on Kateri Drive and Mission Heights Drive, both roads are open for local traffic only beginning at 5 a.m. All roads are expected to re-open for public use at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 9.
Transit Impacts
Transit Routes 1, 2 and 5 are re-routing on Sunday, July 9 to accommodate the Eastlink Centre Triathlon. The following bus stops are closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 9:
- Route 1: Stops 118, 120, 124 and 2000.
- Route 2: Stops 224, 226, 228, 230, 234, 236, 238 and 2000.
- Route 5: Stops 528, 530, 532, 534, 536, 540 and 2000.
