The Heritage Village at the Grande Prairie Museum is closing for the season on Sunday, October 2.
The village was bustling with activity this summer, with an estimated 13,000 visitors since opening in mid-May as part of the International Museum Day event.
This summer, the Heritage Village re-opened the upstairs portion of the Pipestone Creek Store, featuring bedrooms and a weaving/sewing room with various antiques on display.
Despite seasonal closure on October 2, the Heritage Village Folktales Tour returns on October 14 and 15. Learn more about the Folktales Tour at cityofgp.com/folktales.
Residents are encouraged to visit the Heritage Village to see all the historical buildings and beautiful fall colours before the season ends. Village hours are the same as the Grande Prairie Museum, Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Entry is always free.
The City thanks residents for another successful year at the Heritage Village and looks forward to welcoming everyone back next summer!
