(Grande Prairie, Alta. – September 16, 2026) – The City of Grande Prairie’s Public Safety Communications Centre (PSCC) has moved into its new location at City on 99 as it prepares to support the Grande Prairie Police Service (GPPS) transition to police of jurisdiction on October 21.
The move brings the PSCC into a new space designed to support its growing role in regional public safety communications. With the transition to GPPS, the PSCC will provide police call-taking and dispatch services alongside its existing emergency communications responsibilities.
As part of that expanded role, the PSCC will begin dispatching City Enforcement Services and Mobile Outreach. This brings additional local public safety dispatch services together through the PSCC ahead of the transition to GPPS.
“When someone reaches out for help, it matters that there are people on the other end of that call who know and understand our community,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “This move is another step in building a regionally connected public safety system, with people from our community helping their neighbours when they need it most.”
Residents who need to request City Enforcement Services or Mobile Outreach attendance should call the appropriate service directly:
- Enforcement Services: 780-830-5790
- Mobile Outreach: 780-830-7094
Requests for Enforcement Services dispatch will no longer be accepted by email, including through info@cityofgp.com or es_contact@gppolice.com, or in person at City Hall. Residents requiring an Enforcement Services response must call 780-830-5790.
In an emergency, residents should continue to dial 9-1-1. This does not change with the move to City on 99 or the upcoming transition to GPPS.
Residents with general Enforcement Services or City inquiries can continue to contact AccessGP by calling 311.
The move to City on 99 is part of the City’s preparations ahead of GPPS becoming Grande Prairie’s police of jurisdiction on October 21 and supports a more locally connected approach to public safety in Grande Prairie.
