The City of Grande Prairie hosts the International Street Performers Festival downtown from Friday, July 19, to Sunday, July 21. Temporary changes to transit routes and road closures will affect downtown traffic flow to accommodate this vibrant community event.
Road Closures:
- 100 Avenue between 99 Street and 101 Street will be closed to westbound traffic. Detour via 101 Avenue or 97 Avenue, with reroutes north or south on 99 Street.
- 100 Street between 99 Avenue and 101 Avenue will be closed to northbound traffic. Detours will be east on 99 Avenue, with alternative routes including 99 Street and 98 Street. Southbound traffic will be redirected east or west on 101 Avenue, with potential adjustments to move detours north to 102 Avenue to reduce congestion near the Farmers Market.
Transit Adjustments:
- Routes 3, 4, and 8 will detour, affecting Stops 302, 402, and 802, which will be closed from 6 a.m. on Friday until approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday.
- Affected passengers should use temporary boarding points at Town Center Mall.
Additional Information:
- Traffic management signs and detour guidance will be prominently displayed.
- Roads such as 99 Street, 101 Street, 99 Avenue, and 101 Avenue will remain open to facilitate traffic around the festival area.
