Transportation and transit impacts for Grande Prairie Farmer’s Market

The City of Grande Prairie advises residents and visitors of traffic and transit impacts during the Grande Prairie Farmer’s Market.

Road Closure Details:
Each Saturday during market season, 101 Street between 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue closes to all vehicle traffic starting at 7 a.m. The street reopens by 3:45 p.m. Eastbound and westbound traffic will continue to flow on 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue.

Transit Impacts:
During the road closure, the following Route 8 transit stops are temporarily closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • Stop 802 (north side of 100 Avenue in front of Midwest Furniture):
    Route 8 will not stop here on Saturdays until 4 p.m. Other routes servicing this stop are not affected.
  • Stop 804 (east side of 101 Street, just north of the market):
    This stop is closed Saturdays until 4 p.m. Please use Stop 806, located at 103 Avenue and 101 Street.

Route 8 service resumes at these stops after 4 p.m. each Saturday.

Market Dates:

  • June 14, 21 and 28.
  • July 5, 12, 19 and 26.
  • August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
  • September 6 and13.
