Early On Tuesday, August 15, the 106 Street & 116 Avenue intersection is closing to facilitate crucial construction and repair work. Commencing early Tuesday morning, the intersection will be closed to traffic to facilitate gravel repair, full-depth reclamation and asphalt paving operations.
The closure is estimated to last approximately four days, with the intersection scheduled to reopen on Friday afternoon.
During the closure period, a detour route will be in place to guide traffic around the construction area. Motorists are advised to follow the detour, which will divert traffic along 106 Street to 108 Avenue and onto 102 Street.
The adjacent 108 Street & 116 Avenue intersection will remain operational.
The City of Grande Prairie appreciates the patience and cooperation of the community during this necessary construction.
