Eastlink Centre Aquatics Impacts July 25 to 27

The City of Grande Prairie is pleased to welcome nearly 400 athletes and spectators to the Eastlink Centre for the ASSA Regional Championships swim meet from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, July 27.

During the swim meet, limited public swim is offered in scheduled time slot waves allowing up to 100 guests at a time starting at noon each day.

This weekend includes the following schedule updates and amenity impacts to accommodate the competition:

Friday, July 25

  • Amenity closures: 
    • All day: Diving boards.
    • 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.: North end of the 50-metre competition pool. 

Saturday, July 26

  • Swim time slot waves:
    • Fit swim as scheduled (and extended) from 8 a.m. to noon. 
    • Noon to 2 p.m.
    • 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Amenity closures:
    • 8 a.m. to noon: Lazy river, wading pool, splash park, family and adult hot tubs.
    • All day: North end of the 50-metre competition pool, FlowRider, diving boards and towers.

Sunday, July 27 

  • Swim time slot waves:
    • Fit swim as scheduled (and extended) from 8 a.m. to noon. 
    • Noon to 2 p.m.
    • 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
    • Aquatics closes for the evening at 7:30 p.m. for the regularly scheduled aquatics staff meeting. 
  • Amenity closures (all day):
    • North end of the 50-metre competition pool.
    • FlowRider.
    • Diving boards and towers.

Fitness Centre users and other visitors are advised to enter through the aquatics entrance at the west desk only, as the stairs and gate to the fitness centre are closed during the event.

Visitors are reminded of the City’s new AccessNow tool, an online dashboard showing the status of all amenities in the Eastlink Centre and Design Works Centre within a 20-minute accuracy window as either available, partially available or unavailable. While certain impacts are listed below, residents are encouraged to check AccessNow for any amenity impacts before their visit.
