The City of Grande Prairie advises that ditch cleaning work is taking place in the Brochu Industrial area east of the airport starting September 26.
This maintenance project involves removing sediment and debris from the ditch bottom to improve water flow and reduce localized drainage issues. Crews are hauling away material as part of the work.
Work is planned on 123 Street and 104 and 106 Avenues, between 120 Street and 124 Street. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work area, and temporary portable traffic signals may be installed to help manage traffic flow.
Businesses in the area remain open and accessible during the project. Impacts are expected to be minor and limited to local traffic.
Drivers are reminded to follow all posted signage and use caution when travelling through the area.
