Updated as of April 2, 2026.

Due to current snow and ice conditions, the Easter Eggstravaganza will now take place entirely indoors at the Grande Prairie Museum.

The outdoor egg hunts will be replaced with an indoor scavenger hunt, where children will search for paper eggs hidden throughout the museum gallery. The Easter bunny photo booth will also be moved indoors.

All other activities, including crafts, cookie decorating, colouring and treat bags, will continue as planned. Scheduled time slots remain unchanged, and inclusive time slots will still be offered with adaptations to support a comfortable experience for all participants.

Registrants who no longer wish to attend due to this change may withdraw and receive a full refund by contacting AccessGP at 311 or info@cityofgp.com

(Grande Prairie, Alta. – March 13, 2026) – The City of Grande Prairie is welcoming families back to a favourite spring tradition as the Easter Eggstravaganza, proudly supported by Eastlink, returns to Heritage Village at the Grande Prairie Museum on Saturday, April 4.

Throughout the day, children ages two to 10 will explore the historic village, take part in egg hunts and enjoy hands-on activities designed to celebrate the season and bring families together. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with activities offered in 30-minute time slots.

Tickets are $8 per child and free for accompanying parents. Pre-registration is required and can be completed at cityofgp.com/easter

“Spring events like the Easter Eggstravaganza are a great reminder of how important community traditions are for families,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “It’s always wonderful to see children and parents enjoying time together at Heritage Village, and we’re grateful to partners like Eastlink whose support helps make these experiences possible.”

"Eastlink is proud to continue supporting the Easter Eggstravaganza, a cherished event that offers fun, creativity, and inclusive experiences for families across Grande Prairie. We’re delighted to contribute prizes that help make the day even more special. This event has truly become a favourite in the community, and we’re honoured to play a part in bringing such joyful experiences to families year after year," said Colleena Cole, Western Sales & Marketing Manager, Eastlink.

Children will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities throughout the village, including a toddler Easter egg hunt in the Easter Garden for ages two to four and a traditional Easter egg hunt for children ages four to 10. Families can also enjoy Easter crafts, cookie decorating, a scavenger hunt, bunny toss and a photo booth with the Easter Bunny.

An Easter colouring contest is also part of this year’s festivities. Children ages two to 10 are invited to submit their artwork by the end of the day on April 7. Colouring sheets can be dropped off at the Grande Prairie Museum or scanned and emailed to events@cityofgp.com. Winners from three age categories will be randomly drawn on April 8 and will receive prizes generously provided by Eastlink. Children do not need to attend the event to enter the contest.

Inclusive time slots designed for participants who benefit from a quieter and calmer environment will once again be offered. Activities may be adapted to reduce sensory strain and support an accessible experience for all attendees. Families interested in booking an inclusive time slot can do so by calling AccessGP at 311.

Visitors are reminded that the Easter Eggstravaganza takes place both indoors and outdoors throughout Heritage Village and are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather.
