(Grande Prairie, Alta. – October 3, 2025) – After five weeks of annual maintenance, the pool at Eastlink Centre is set to welcome swimmers back on Monday, October 6.
During the shutdown, crews carried out a wide range of repairs and maintenance across the aquatics area. This included cleaning and repairing the pools and hot tubs, updating filtration and chemical systems to improve water quality, refurbishing the sauna and steam rooms, refreshing change rooms with new paint and tile, and completing general lighting, flooring and plumbing repairs throughout the facility.
These improvements help keep the pool area safe, modern and welcoming for residents of all ages to enjoy.
The lazy river and the waterslide amenities will continue to be closed for the rest of the year, or until the repairs are completed as part of the life-cycle replacement of the liner. During the amenity closure, the facility has adjusted the schedules and programming to accommodate those in the community that utilized the lazy river. Fit swim times, aqua fit classes, as well as low-impact dryland fitness classes are all available to help community members stay active. Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the schedules and fitness classes to take advantage of everything this facility has to offer. The schedules for all amenities at Eastlink Centre are available to view at cityofgp.com/schedules.
