The City of Grande Prairie is pleased to share that the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground at Lions Park (9930 90 Avenue) is officially open for community use as of today, Wednesday, September 17.
Following the completion of final inspections the playground is ready to welcome children and families to enjoy its inclusive and accessible features. The playground offers a vibrant space designed for kids of all abilities to play together, supporting recreation, connection and fun for the entire community.
The City extends gratitude to Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities for their generous gift that made this project possible, along with local Canadian Tire Dealers David Dungey and Lisa Miller whose support and advocacy helped secure Lions Park as one of the newest Jumpstart Inclusive Playground locations in Canada. The playground represents a shared vision between the City and Jumpstart to remove barriers to sport and play so all kids can participate.
A grand opening celebration is planned for spring 2026 to officially commemorate this exciting addition to the community.
This playground is another reason Grande Prairie is a great place to live, work and play, offering spaces where people of all abilities can enjoy life in our city.
