City Launches Year Two of GP Grows at Home Gardening Program

Year two of the GP Grows Program starts this spring with residents able to receive a free seasonal gardening kit consisting of vegetable and flower seeds, and a seed potato.

Free registration is available online starting April 14 at 8:30 a.m. and staying open until April 28 or until supplies run out. A total of 1500 kits are available.

Once registered, participants will receive instructions to pick-up their gardening kit from Revolution Place between April 30 and May 1.

Everyone participating in GP Grows is encouraged to share photos of their gardens on social media using the hashtag #GPGrows.

The City of Grande Prairie is excited to bring the program back this year and looks forward to the launch of this phase to continue to provide residents an opportunity to experience the benefits of gardening and a free and fun activity everyone can enjoy.

About GP Grows

GP Grows is an educational gardening program that started in 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, the program encouraged residents to get outside and garden while other activities were unavailable. After the success of the initial launch, the program was expanded and ran a total of three phases.
