The City of Grande Prairie is bringing back GP Grows: On Tour for another season of informative, drop-in events designed to support local gardeners and green thumbs of all experience levels.

Running from June through September, the series invites residents to explore seasonal topics in gardening and landscaping, guided by knowledgeable Parks staff. Each session runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at various locations around the city and offers practical tips, expert insight and time for questions—no registration required.

GP Grows: On Tour 2025 Schedule
All events run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – just drop in!

  • June 18 – Battling Pests in the Garden
    O’Brien Orchard – 60 Avenue & 112 Street.
  • July 16 – Harvest Highlights
    Dalen Park – 98 Street & 77 Avenue.
  • August 13 – Tree Planting for the Future
    Hillside Rink – 9410 106 Avenue.
  • September 17 –Putting Your Garden to Bed for the Winter
    Dave Barr Community Centre – 9535 Prairie Road.

“GP Grows: On Tour invites residents to get their hands in the dirt and grow their connection to the environment,” said Director of Environment & Parks, Kase DeVries. “It’s a down-to-earth way to learn, ask questions and pick up simple tools for greener living.”

The GP Grows initiative aligns with City Council’s Strategic Plan by enhancing quality of life and fostering an inclusive, caring community. By offering free, accessible education on sustainable practices, the program supports environmental stewardship and encourages residents to take an active role in creating a greener Grande Prairie.
