(Grande Prairie, Alta. – March 25, 2026) – The City of Grande Prairie is reinstating parking bans and beginning residential snow clearing starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 26 following recent snowfall.

The ban restricts parking on permanent snow routes (priority 1 and 2 routes) from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. until the ban is lifted. Details on what defines priority 1 and 2 roads can be found at cityofgp.com/snow.

Parking bans come into effect to ensure safe access to roadways during snow clearing operations.

A notice will be published on the City’s Website, Facebook and Twitter pages once the parking ban is lifted.

Temporary residential parking restrictions will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on scheduled clearing days.

Residents are encouraged to:

  • Move vehicles promptly when parking bans are in effect
  • Check their assigned residential clearing day
  • Sign up for text or email reminders
