The City of Grande Prairie is seeking a corporate naming rights partner for the ball diamonds located at South Bear Creek Park.

“South Bear Creek Park is a cornerstone of sport, recreation and community connection in Grande Prairie,” said City of Grande Prairie Events and Programming Director Catherine Ridgeway. “Securing a naming rights partner for the ball diamonds is an exciting opportunity for a business or organization to align with one of our city’s most active and well-loved facilities, while also supporting youth programs, tournaments and regional events that contribute to our community’s vibrancy and economic readiness.”

Brand integration may include:

  • Logo on South Bear Creek Park entrance sign. 
  • Branding and advertising opportunities on all diamonds and dugouts. 
  • Customized activations or programs to reach target audiences. 
  • Name included in facility listings on Google and Trip Advisor. 
  • Name included in ball diamonds marketing materials including:
    • Webpage.
    • Radio.
    • Event promotions.
    • Social media content.
    • Facility schedules.
    • Program promotions.
    • And more!

About the South Bear Creek ball diamonds

South Bear Creek Park offers a wide variety of recreational activities including sporting facilities like the ball diamonds, beach volleyball courts and the Par 3 Bear Paw golf course. The park also offers a pavilion and picnic area, walking trails, two off-leash dog parks and overnight camping. 

With 12 locations, the ball diamonds allow hosting for local, provincial and national tournaments for fastball, slo-pitch and fast-pitch. The facility was also home to over 165 teams with over 2000 players across four leagues in 2024. 

In addition, the South Bear Creek Park hosts 138 children annually from Monday to Friday in July and August as part of the City of Grande Prairie’s summer camps.

Other highlights:

  • Diamonds one and two feature full dug outs, large outdoor bleacher seating, lights and digital score clock. 
  • Diamond three offers full dugouts and large outdoor bleacher seating. 
  • Diamonds four through 12 are equipped with modified dugouts and small bleachers. 
  • Over 2,800 hours of scheduled use per year.

The South Bear Creek ball diamonds host various tournaments each year and is the future host of the Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games 2025 Grande Prairie. The ball diamonds also previously hosted multiple events, including:

  • Men’s and Master Men’s Fastball Nationals 2019;
  • Alberta Summer Games 2018;
  • Canadian Native Fastball Championships; and
  • 2023 U13 and U15 Girls Provincial Fastball Championships.
